Carlos Quentin And The Thirty Game Suspension
"Success is achieved and maintained by those who try and keep trying." - W. Clement Stone
Quentin has a history of being hit by pitches so getting hit again should not really affect him that much. It was a 3-2 count, in a close game. Greinke was not looking for trouble when he delivered that pitch, and even if he was Quentin was still wrong for going after him. With the Padres down Grandal, and Headley to start the season as sad as this is to say the Padres are relaying on Quentin for early season production. Now at some point in the next few weeks they will be without all three.
Even more ridiculous are the people who are calling for the "Eye for an eye" edict to be passed down. This might be a little overkill for my liking but I can see why some people would want Quentin to be out for as long as Greinke is. Quentin was only looking after himself with the way in which he acted last night. By attacking Greinke in my opinion was a selfish move for him to make, we are now robbed of Greinke for potentially up to eight weeks with a broken collarbone.
What I'm looking forward to today:
- Watching CC's Fastball Velocity
- Julio Teheran takes on the Nationals 7:05 (Vs. Detwiler)
- Wondering if Burnett, and Masterson can keep the early run going.
- Kershaw is on the mound.
- Thought of going to watch "42" tonight but I will probably wait till never to watch it.
